That’s fair! Unasked advice is obnoxious, but we are allowed to be obnoxious.

Two reasons. I’m trying to cut down on internet use, so I don’t get dragged into arguments like this. No account, no (less) temptation to post.

Also deleting accounts you no longer use is good security practice. Sites get hacked all the time, and very often the details that are hacked from one site (like password or email or answers to security questions) allow people to hack into other sites, like your email address.

It’s semantics, but if deactivation, as opposed to deletion, of your account is your goal, that can be done. That accomplishes your goal of cutting down your internet use and enabling others to (unlikely as it may be) hack into your account. Your past posts, however, remain.
