I'd love to hear some feedback! Worried about weak ECs.

I posted this in What are my chances? but it didn't get a lot of responses. Any feedback at all would be extremely appreciated. I know scores are competitive enough, but I don't have anything that stands out.

White male, New York, competitive school sends almost 20 to ivy, but bad luck with Yale (1/17 admitted last year)

ACT: 35.25 (35,35,35,36, 8 essay)
(this was third time taking, have to send 34, 33 prior)

GPA: 97.64 (rank not sent, would be within top 10/365, top 2-3%)
Fresh: 95, Soph: 98, Junior: 101.4 (upward trend)
-without 8th/9th grade, gpa would be near 100 (valedictorian has around there)

SAT II: 800 math 2, 740 us
(have to send a 690 math 1 from soph year, and a 730 us retake)
AP: Eng-5, US-4 (taking 4 more senior year)-rest of classes were most rigorous(honors)

ECs: I will try to emphasize/frame Bowling as unique, and suggest that I wish to start a team/club at whatever college I attend.

see above for bowling awards

Your EC’s are not weak.

^Definitely Agreed.

^also agree. However, they aren’t especially great either. They’re a bit different, but it isn’t like your ecs are amazing standouts.

Thank you. Previous posters have told me they were weak, that they were the thing bringing down my application. Then again, I was asking for it by posting it on CC. Some accepted students on decisions threads do have some pretty impressive ECs, I’ll have to admit.

Wait, you had a preconception that you were stronger than accepted students? I’m a little confused by the mixed messages you’re sending. Or am I reading too much into what you’re writing? That certainly wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done something like that :D

Oh no, not at all. Sorry, that was awkwardly worded. Their crazy ECs are what worried me in the first place.

yeah ur ECs really suck the big one kid. get off the effing computer and go volunteer at some joint…honestly what the hell

ECs: I will try to emphasize/frame Bowling as unique

lol get it … frame, bowling…lol i crack myself up

for all u people out there i was JK on that last post. unfortunately i know the OP personally

I can always leave it to you to pick up on an unintended pun.

haha no but i’m serious that was genius. that was a rare no pun intended
