Hi, does anyone know anything about this program? As in, will it look decent on college apps, and how hard is the math there? I went on the website but couldn't discern whether or not little kids are separated from older ones (it's for entering grades 6-12). I know it's headed by Zuming Feng, but I'm concerned that the math taught there will be well below my level.

Here’s the curriculum from last year (2010): [IDEA MATH](http://ideamath.org/SummerCourse.htm).

Seems not-too-advanced. I’d look for anything listed at [Summer Math Camps and Programs for High School Students](AMS :: Summer Math Camps and Programs for High School Students).

It depends what level you’re at… It’s comparable to AwesomeMath pretty much. Believe me, unless you’re like a USAMO winner, it’s probably challenging enough for you.

Zuming Feng = LEGIT

If the summer program is anything like the winter version, I guarantee that you will be challenged unless you can consistently get high USAMO scores. (Assuming you sign up for the right level.) Our school’s USAMO-qualifier-since-6th-grade (now a freshman) seemed pretty occupied with his advanced topics class.

Juts look at the people working there, they can be described as an outright version of “AwesomeMath”,

and with people like Naoki Sato (teaches WOOT at artofproblemsolving), Zuming Feng IMO team leader, and Po-Shen-Lo a Ph.D an MOSP instructor, these are hard core people, and I assure you it will be very difficult.

They have many levels, and its primarily competition math.

Hmm, well I did look at the curriculum and it seems pretty basic. I am not a USAMO-level math student, although close, so if you guys are sure I may give it a shot. I will be a senior next year though, so I don’t think getting to USAMO will boost college apps. I might do it for fun though, but I think I’d like a bit more feedback because I did not see anything really advanced in the curriculum despite the fact that it has all these big names. The 6-12 was a red flag for me because I don’t want to take classes with kids 6 years below me (besides the rare precocious USAMO qualifier).

I think that’s what it is, 6th graders may prep for amc 8 and math counts, but generally, you will be placed in appropriate academic level,
