Idea to Reduce College Expense - RA

<p>My youngest is an RA this year - it’s a lot of work and a lot of responsibility (a student on her floor is on a psychiatric watch; she had to fine one of her best friends for leaving on vacation without cleaning her room; being up til 2 in the morning the night before a final exam because of being on duty, etc.). She also sets up every chem lab for the school.</p>

<p>Next year there is no opportunity for a campus job because she starts the graduate phase of her degree and classes run 8-6 five days a week. She’s a great student, but working is far too much pressure for a kid in a very demanding program.</p>

<p>When I went to college ,I found a job with room and board and salary ,as a nanny I worked M-F from 3-8 ,and 2 Saturday nights per month .I had a small apt. with a separate entrance ,and I had plenty of free time .The mom was very nice ,and really accomodated all my vegetarian preferences .I lived in a safe ,posh neighborhood and my parent were pleased.Harder to get a job like this if you are a male .Good luck !!</p>
