<p>if you transfer after sophomore year, you must apply to a major. i think that it is better for you to transfer after freshman year so that you will have 3 solid years at your new school</p>

<p>i had applied to usc in feb 2006 for fall 2006 (sophomore) class standing. i got deferred for fall (2006), and instead got offer to join in spring 2007. as and how i have passed from jan-till now I have kept on regretting on my decision of accepting to join in spring. I have been utterly upset and couldnt concentrate on my studies........ do you think i shud have come and join my new school in spring??</p>
<p>no. i have heard that it is really difficult to make friends in the spring term. don't worry to much about it, transferring will be good for you regardles of when you do it (especially if it is something important to you)</p>
