I have a friend who is looking for colleges for her son. He is an excellent singer and would like to be in an ocapella group or something like that. He wants to major in business, any suggestions?

Most colleges have a range of a cappella groups of varying levels.

You might want to ask on the Business Major forum and provide additional information: gpa, testing scores, rigor of coursework, state of residence, preferred region of the country, size of school, rural/suburban/urban, social vibe, etc.

St. Olaf…

UNC … great business school…search Clef Hangers UNC graduation 2009 you tube video.

Depending on many factors, Wash U might be a good fit. Good business school here (Olin) and many a cappella groups.

Ask on the Music Major forum. Does he want a class or informal group for singing? Univ of WI - Madison has good business and voice programs. Not hard to double major.

Other good voice schools that likely have business: Univ of MI - Ann Arbor, Univ of IN - Bloomington, Univ of Cincinnati, Harvard, Yale?, Rice, Vanderbilt. Oberlin in Oberlin, OH, and Lawrence in Appleton, WI are also possibilities. Eastman School of Music is part of the University of Rochester.

If he wants informal singing at an ok voice school, then almost any large university will have enough singers - U of IL - Urbana, Also, there is likely to be a barbershop chapter there.

tank you for your suggestions willforward them to her.

Lawrence U in Appleton WIS.

Washington and Lee University in Virginia may fit the bill, The Williams school of commerce, and they have a student run acapella group that tours nationally…
