Although it is a ways off, I am starting to think about how to get Son's stuff to campus. He will be flying in and probably going through the international student orientation program. I think they take them shoppping. I am considering that he doesn't bring clothes from home to the states. We live in a mostly warm/hot climate. He will be in California with family before he leaves for Wisconsin and can get things there. (I will be there for awhile but in September long gone and back to work.) I also am aware that suitcases can be shipped via fedex throughout the states. We used that system last year. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

overseas -- Did you check Lawrence's website under 'parents?' I thought they had shipping info there (but maybe it was last summer!). I don't think you'd have any problem with either FedEx or UPS. I live in PA and, although I drove my D up to Lawrence in September, we shipped loads of stuff via UPS. They will either deliver to the mailroom (before dorms open) or directly to the street address of the dorm. I'm now in the process of trying to find out where D can store stuff during the summer so we don't have to cart it or ship it back and forth. Apparently there is some type of arrangement for this!

Thanks for the information. It's probably too early for the website.

The storage business is good the hear about. The lady I work with has two boys in the states in the Midwest and the East coast going to college and packing up the dorms every year is a pain. They figured out the process and used friends etc. Having less "stuff" seems better for internationals.
