I have a 2.5 gpa at the end of my sophomore year, it might be up to a 2.7 by the time junior year is over. I scored an 1830 on the SAT. 680 on math, 650 on critical reading, and 500 on writing. I want to major in business administration. Do I have a chance of getting into a university? Any college suggestions? I really don’t want to attend a community college. If anymore info is needed i will provide it. Thanks a lot in advance!
What state are you in? How much can you afford to pay per year? You need to ask your parents what they can contribute.
I live in maine, but would prefer to go out-of-state… And my parents don’t make much money so i wouldn’t see them contributing a ton
With 2.7/1850, of course you can attend a 4-year university.
However, you won’t get any merit scholarship, so the key element here will be what budget your parents have set for you.
Run the Net Price Calculator on these 10 universities: University of Maine Farmington, University of Vermont, Florida Atlantic University, Appalachian State, Albion, Guilford, Hiram, Roanoke, Ursinus, and Elizabethtown. (yes, I know, it’s a lot, but those are universities that should be matches for you but will calculate your costs very differently).
Bring the results and ask them; which universities are unaffordable even with federal loans and a part-time job? Which are affordable if you take on the federal loans and a part time job now + in college?
Something else to consider: The New England Board of Higher Ed. runs a program where students from NE states- including Maine-- get tuition breaks at a number of out of state public colleges and universities.
It’s going to take some searching, but may open up some more doors for you.

Listed on that page, under “find a program” is a brochure for Maine, along with the programs and majors that qualify.
^^do this. And instead of saying ‘not a lot’ why don’t you find out what the actual number is? That is very important because what you can afford is just as major a factor as where you can get in.
Out of state public colleges usually don’t give much aid to people not in their state, plus they charge extra
tuition for students not in state.
Your scores are better than your gpa, why is that?
my scores are higher than my gpa because my first two years i screwed off and didnrt care much for school
Have you run the NPCs on those 10 schools, and brought the results to your parents to get a definite number?
