Idiom and diction list!!

<p>Okay this is for upcoming January SAT writing section. I think that for me, two of hardest parts in writing sections are idioms and dictions. So I thought, “hey why not get help from CCer?” If you know any good idiom or diction that you remember seeing on SAT or from your study, please post here! Of course, idioms and dictions are rare and even they appear, there are like 2 of them. But that’s still 20 points…</p>

<p>I didn’t have an organized list for diction yet but I found 10 idioms (correct) that are often tested on SAT.</p>

<li>Support for Franklin Delano Roosevelt</li>
<li>Compared to other girls</li>
<li>Protests against underage drinking</li>
<li>Comply with the federal law</li>
<li>Enthusiasm for Hilary Clinton</li>
<li>Listening to “Lips of an Angel”</li>
<li>Something of an enigma</li>
<li>Preoccupation with the history of Franks</li>
<li>Attributed to the technical work</li>
<li>Regard as BEST album of the year</li>

<p>"Compared with" and "Protest for" also are correct.</p>

<p>Okay what's the difference between "Compared to" and "Compared with"? Like is there a significant difference as in "Protests against" and "Protests for" (first one is anti- and second one is pro).</p>
