Hi everyone I’m currently in my 3rd semester of school I need 2 more semesters to graduate which means I’ll be graduating in December 2018 and I have to apply to 4 year colleges this summer. My gpa is a 3.2 right now, I hope to maintain it this way or at least increase it. I want to major in education when I transfer to my new school, do you guys have any suggestions of which colleges would accept me with the gpa that I have? Which colleges have a good education program? I want to do elementary education, I want to teach 2nd grade.

You’re in community college now? What state are you in? Usually for education it’s a good idea to get your degree where you plan to live. State schools will save you money and you’re sure to meet the certification requirements.

Pick your favorite CUNY or SUNY.
All the SUNYs should have elementary education and be good programs. My son is an elementary ed major - save the money!

New Paltz is in a nice town and you can get to NYC on weekends, Geneseo has a really nice campus and is in a cute town, Oswego or Cortland are great if you’re outdoorsy…

@julyzahxo he’s a 1st semester freshman so still taking a lot of general ed, but he’s enjoying the couple education classes he has. In NJ you have to basically do a double major so he’s Elem ed and History.
