IDOC - 1099 Forms(all versions)

Can anyone clarify what does it mean by (all versions)

Also, am I required to send the entire 1099 document from my Investment company which runs in to 8 pages with details for Dividends and Distributionor just 1 pages which states - Tax Information

I’ll be interested in the answers. If I end up having to use Idoc I plan on sending only the 1099 summary sheet that our financial planner prepares with the account names, dividend, cap gains/loss consolidated etc. info but with the account numbers eradicated. No one needs the monthly activity except us.

My guess is that ‘all versions’ means all the various kinds of 1099s: 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-R, 1099-MISC etc. Any kind of 1099 that you receive. If I was requested to send these I would only send the official IRS part of the forms, with the various boxes. I wouldn’t send any other doc, summary sheets etc. unless they were specifically requested. Some financial instituions do have alternate forms of 1099s but they generally somehow show the box numbers from the ‘official’ forms.

Health Saving Account (HSA) also has a 1099 form. I am sending everything to avoid any trouble.

I also got a 1099-G because I received a state tax return last year, I sent that in as well.

question-I paid $1k more in taxes that I estimated when I filled out the CSS profile, since I had to send in my completed 1040 tax return to CollegeBoard, is it worth contacting the individual colleges to correct my CSS profile? I heard from a friend that CollegeBoard actually corrected a mistake on his IDOC for him (it was not in his favor).

You can ask the colleges whether they want Profile corrections. My son’s colleges did not want any corrections. State tax refunds are already on line 10 on the 1040 form.

Thanks for the reply, momofthreeboys. You were right, DS’s colleges didn’t want my corrections, just my 1040.
