IDOC and College Board Hell

Well, first they screw up by making a mistake with my son's SS # (don't ask me how that is possible when its correct on the Profile) and then after three calls, they still haven't corrected it. Finally, they say that they can't correct the IDOC cover sheet once its been issued and that I have to change the number on the cover sheet manually. Then they say that its invalid because I crossed out the number and put in the correct number. They say you can't cross out the number, you can only write in the correct number below it (and hope that they don't screw it up again). Now, 10 days after I have sent everything in again, I get the email saying that they haven't received it. So now I don't know who I trust less, the College Board or the US Postal Service. Any other horror stories?

is this the 4th or 5th circle of hell?

one school wants documentation of all my medical bills for me and my kids from last year..that is about 15- 20 phone calls for me to make to gather the info from various providers, pharmacies, etc...sitting on hold an average of 10 min per call

the number I gave for the medical costs on the Profile was an estimate, but I'm told it can't be corrected..so I have to drill down very deep to come up with the documentation to support that figure, as it was not a conservative estimate

wecandothis,
Do they really want all the itemized bills or will they accept the medical deduction from your federal taxes (since that is actual #s, not estimated)?

no, I didn't deduct them last year because I didn't need to (low income last year)...soooo they want me to dig all this up...

Do these schools really need College Board's help on not giving us aid? I think that they've been doing a good enough job of denying us without the middle man!

administrative comportment is to college as bathroom is to restaurant. a peek into the kitchen,..

back out while you can.

And isn't their hold music terrible?
