Has anyone sent their IDOC materials in the past week or two and had it show up as received on the IDOC site? (I'm trying to figure out just how backlogged they are, so if you know the date you sent it, that would be helpful.)

We sent ours on April 16th and it has not been acknowledged yet. Also our certified mail tracking shows nothing since the 16th. USPS is saying that Mt. Vernon (IDOC) receives so many envelopes this time of year that they sometimes miss pulling out the ones that are supposed to be scanned, and scanning them, so they "probably" delivered it just fine and just missed scanning it. But since it is also not showing up as received by IDOC, it makes me a bit nervous obviously.

I've contacted the school and am waiting to hear back from them as to what they want us to do. (Fortunately, our son is currently a freshman planning on continuing at the same school, so it is just one school we need to deal with.)

I mailed ours priority (2-3 day) on April 14th, haven’t gotten an email that they received it yet–although if it goes straight to D2, I may never see it :o.

I don’t know what school you’re dealing with, but I called up D2s college a week or two before their April 15 deadline and asked about problems with the lag time with Profile and IDOC. They told me not to worry, that even if I submitted late, it would only affect when I got the FA package, not the amounts.

entomom, you can check the status on the idoc website. Login and then click “check status”. If they send an email, undoubtedly it goes straight to the kid, so we’d never know! ;-)

DS’s school says they will reduce your grant aid by $500 if your application is late, but I’m sure they’re reasonable about things outside our control like IDOC backlogs. I’m just trying to confirm that it’s not lost, since USPS has no update on it, which they should. :-/

Thanks, I will check. I was basking in the relief of finishing taxes and FA by the deadlines, guess it’s time to get back to reality ;).

I was basking last week as well ;-)

Any other data points? Ours still has not been acknowledged. DS’s school said to re-send on May 7th if it hasn’t shown up by then. I am concerned about identity theft if it really has gone astray. sigh.

Sorry, I forgot about this. I mailed priority on April 14, the IDOC Status says it was received April 17 and the information was available to the school on April 19.

My returning student had a due date of May 1 for IDOC. I priority mailed/delivery confirmation on 4/24. I tracked on the USPS site and it was delivered to IDOC on 4/27. IDOC has not recorded the receipt yet (but that was just Friday). I think the PO might have messed up in your case.

I’m hoping it’s just the PO that messed up in our case. But IDOC has not acknowledged it yet either, and we sent it priority on the 16th, so I’m starting to get concerned again…

By the way, DS’s school has said to wait until May 7th and then re-send if IDOC still has not acknowledged receipt. They had an April 27th deadline but they notated our account not to penalize us and are being very reasonable and helpful.

In follow up - I checked yesterday and IDOC had no record of receiving my documents (although PO recorded delivery on 4/27). I checked again today and IDOC indicates that they received my docs on 4/27 and the info was made available to the college 5/1 (today). I hope you get your issue resolved!

Our appear to be truly missing. We’ve placed fraud alerts on our credit files, and will re-assemble our documents this weekend to send again on Monday.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully it just got misplaced somewhere in the USPS and will show up later.

thanks entomom, I hope so too :)
