IDOC & CSS

If you are a Canadian, what files do you have to submit to IDOC? In addition to this, I think I made a typo for one parents income on the CSS, but I already submitted it. How do I go about correcting this, or will they just cross check and notice the error and fix it themselves? Thank you!

  1. College Board will tell you in details what to be submitted to each school. Not every school uses IDOC.
  2. Correction: Cross the original number and write the corrected number next to it. Write a brief explanation about what you are correcting.

Actually, you need to contact each college and find out how THEY want corrections handled. YMMV depending on the college.

Some will want you to send a printed copy with the correction written.

Some will use the fafsa IRS DRT (which doesn’t apply to you as a Canadian).

Some will request copies of your tax returns.

Some will use the info you send to IDOC and the corrections will be made.

But the only way to know for sure…contact the colleges.

ETA…I realize you are concerned about this…but saying it’s “urgent” is a stretch.

@coolweather @thumper1 thank you so much to both of you

@thumper1 I apologize for calling it urgent, but I am applying SCEA, and so the deadline is nov 1st, and as a Canadian if I needed to correct then it would take a few days to mail to the US. But nonetheless, sorry about that.
