IDOC -- Do I have to send in W-2 forms, 1099 forms, and Verification Worksheet?

After I completed the CSS profile, Collegeboard asked me to submit my IDOC packet.
I'm not a US citizen, and my parents and I never work in the US. I do not have the W-2 forms and 1099 forms. Is it okey to send in my packet without those forms??? Should I do anything to indicate that I do not have those?

Also, do I need to send in the Verification Worksheet??

Really need your help. Thanks in advance!

1) It is absolutely fine to send your packet without the W-2 forms and 1099 forms. But if your parents file an income tax return you should send the tax forms( with translation if the forms are not in english) that are used in your country. And in case your parents don’t file an income tax return (or your country has no such provisions), you should send in the Non-tax Filer’s statement along with an income statement from your parent’s employer(s) and other verifying document(s).

2) The Verification Worksheet is for federal aid, so I think that an international student need not send it.

Hey, you are not required to send all that stuff. They asked me just an income tax return and that’s it, since I am not a US citizens. Check your requirements.

I’ve sent the same question to collegeboard, I’m not expecting an answer though (last time I emailed them it took more than half a year to get a reply, true story haha). Thing is, all the forms you mention shows up in my required documents. Does that happen to you to lin?

How would you submit forms you don’t have?

“That particular e-mail was sent in error. You should disregard the request in the e-mail for you to submit your tax documents to IDOC for processing. … Colleges to which you have applied may require income documentation in the future. You should refer to each school’s website to confirm what is required as well as when and how to submit the required forms to a particular college or university.”

I just got this email from Collegeboard. It’s an error, haha…

agrinn,

I checked several schools’ sites, and it seems to me that int’l students are usually not required to send in IDOC packages. You may want to check whether the schools you’re applying to request IDOC. Good luck!

Lin

Yes. I got that mail too (“sent in error”). I was pretty shocked for three days. Didn’t know what to do. I was glad to get that mail. :)

Also got that mail, but I’ve got to admit, I didn’t really read it until now :P

@Lin
Guess you’re right, hopefully the colleges will be pretty understanding if something minor is missing. Thank you, good luck to you too! :)

Bump . Same problem.

^ The mail was sent in error. You can ignore it. Contact the college if you are still unsure.

My IDOC Requirments state that I need to include W2 and 1099 forms. I am a US eligible NON CITIZEN. And I do not have W2 or 1099 forms for myself (Student)
What should I do? Should I just send in my packet without them?
ALSO what if my parents have not filled out a 2010 federal income tax return can they use approximates or send in 2009s?
please help soon :(

You obviously don’t have W-2s or 1099s if you didn’t have any income last year. Just ignore those. I would ask one of your college’s financial aid office what to do about your parents’ 2010 tax returns, if that’s not addressed in the IDOC instructions.
