IDOC help

My parents have not filed their 2014 taxes yet and the deadline for the IDOC is tomorrow. Do I upload my 2013 tax documents in place of the 2014 ones or do I wait until I receive the 2014 documents? If it helps, I am applying to Cornell, Columbia, MIT, and Stanford. Thank you!

Can you make your parents do it? If they are missing a form they can file then amend later when they get whatever is missing. I don’t think the 2013 is going to cut it.

From MIT’s website:
“If you will not be able to send the 2014 income tax return through the IDOC service by February 15, 2015, send your 2013 income tax returns, W-2 forms, and all schedules directly to Student Financial Services. Due to security concerns, we are unable to accept emailed copies. You will be required to submit the 2014 Tax Returns to IDOC when they are available.”

I’m also concerned about this. My father, noncustodial parent, hasn’t done his 2014 taxes yet. I talked to him and he said he really can’t do them until another few days. Can I upload his 2013 tax returns in lieu until I get them???

I e-mailed the FA offices of the two schools that are due tomorrow and require my fathers’ tax return, but any other confirmation would be much appreciated.

Call the school directly and ask @Ctesiphon - that policy may vary by school. Emory was very clear that if they didn’t have the docs on time D was not guaranteed any institutional aid at all. Some schools may be more forgiving of a few days’ delay.

I e-mailed the schools yesterday and today they responded this morning, only Rice and Haverford financial aid documents are due today. Rice told me that late documents will not reduce the FA I actually receive, it will only delay the FA award letter. Haverford asked me the soonest my father can do it (I talked to my dad today, he says he will get it done either tonight or tomorrow).

I spoke to Rice today, too and they said to send document asap; that their deadline is “flexible” but get docs in as soon as you can. We’re waiting on an investment tax form and can’t file until we get it.

Spoke with Emory last week and they also said to send in docs asap after the deadline. She’s accepted w/ 20,000 in scholarship - we don’t expect any FA with income of 160,000.

WashU and Brown didn’t request docs from her - but they both are IDOC schools…super reach schools for her so I’m wondering if this means she’s already denied?

I can’t tell on idoc who is requesting what except generally, meaning those schools require this or that (from all applicants, I assume). I note Brown says: “Brown does not require an IDOC packet from every family.” and it’s not due until March 10 anyway.
