so i went to the post office and they told me that even through express mail, it won't be received at the college board's office till monday, march 2.
so did i just miss the deadline because march 1 is a sunday and they don't deliever mail on sunday? will i get penalized or will they understand?

this is for notre dame, wake forest, and duke.

btw...am i also suppose to include my parents "combined tax statement" from the banks? its about interest income and about the mortgage.

and am i also suppose to send in tuition statements from my sisters college?

March 2 will have to do. From the IDOC website: "If your deadline is March 1, 2009 and you have yet to submit an IDOC packet, please send in your information as soon as possible. " Doesn’t sound like they will treat you too harshly.

Yes, send in the combined tax statement. Interest income is part of the 1099s that are required to be sent in.

No on the tuition statements.

thank you soo much!!!

and btw.
i was thinking of just going to UPS and paying $50 for an overnight and so it’ll arrive at CB by saturday afternoon. is that $50 worth it, or am i just wasting my money? or should i just go for the express and pay $25?

it all comes down to whether CB deems my IDOC late or not and if i would get ‘punished’ for it?

IMO, $50 = waste! It is pretty clear that Collegeboard is lenient, since they tell you to send in the info asap even if the deadline passed. Colleges should also be pretty lenient… they always have these deadlines but they always continue receiving materials (eg. required supplements, letters of rec, transcript…).

I mailed mine out yesterday; do you think it would arrive on time by either tomorrow or Monday (since no ups on Sundays), assuming that I’m trying to make the March 1st deadline?

Not worth it to spend $50 or $25. Priority should be fine. The IDOC is not like the FAFSA where being late is NOT GOOD.

Priority mail it on Saturday and you’ll be fine.
