I don't understand... my parents don't even have their forms for 2008 yet, so how could I send in photocopies of them?

Also, how strict are the deadlines for financial aid in general?

FAFSA has a priority deadline you should hit in order to get the most out of federal aid. I do not suggest procrastinating on fafsa.

As for CSS Profile, that has a deadline for IDOC too. I suggest you call collegeboard and see what they have to say. They want parents to get their tax returns done in February though.

Strict enough that if you do not meet the deadlines, you could be out of the money and not receive any FA.

Even schools with deep pockets will have budgets and you could end up not receiving as much aid as you would have if you applied on time.

At schools with pockets that are not so deep, you could end up having more loans than you would have if you applied on time.

At schools that are need sensitive, need aware, your not applying on time could determine whether or not you are admitted.

The deadline for the IDOC is March 1, so you had better be quick.

IDOC for Brown is March 10. That is thankfully the only one I need...however my parents haven't finished their tax for 2008 because we have to pay back like $400 and there is no way we can pay that right now. What are we supposed to do? Call Brown and tell ask for leniency given the situation?

Remember, even if they file now, they still have until april 15 to pay their taxes or set up a payment plan with the IRS. So yes, they can file now and pay later.

I'll ask my mom about it when she gets home so we can correct our FAFSA etc. Thanks.
