Hello everyone!
I have applied to US colleges as an international freshman applicant this year. I have already submitted my dad’s tax file to IDOC. But however, as I came back to check later, I found out that IDOC has specified my dad’s foreign tax file as “Other US Form”.
So far I have mailed IDOC indicating that this is a mistake. What should I do now?
Thanks in advance.
IDOC did the same thing with me. I submitted my tax form (I’m the parent) and it showed up as “other”. There was a message at the top in red stating they still needed my tax form, but I knew it was there listed as “other”. I called Collegeboard and they said it was fine and that they could see my tax form there. A day later, it was still bothering me so I resubmitted my form with it clearly labeled (again, but this time a little better) “Parent tax form”. I know it says not to resubmit forms, but I did it anyway. I just wasn’t sure that the one person I talked to gave me the right answer. After a few days, they processed the second submission so that it shows received now and that message in red is gone.
It doesn’t matter how they are labelled by IDOC. IDOC sends everything to the universities and they download the material. So they will have it. And they will obviously recognise that it isn’t a US form. Relax.
Well, IDOC says my docs are verified and accepted, and also that my requirements are now fulfilled. But still they did this labeling/categorizing mistake.
Anyways, I really hope the colleges find them satisfying.
