My dad is none-too-happy finding out more forms to fill out within days of them being due, especially with the headaches from FAFSA & CSS.
Does every new applicant for F/A have to complete this additional info?
Columbia is a high reach for me which will likely require "divine intervention" to be accepted. I just think it's alot of work for an applicant they likely won't accept.
Don't get me wrong, Columbias' academic rigors don't worry me, there's simply more to life than just school...

Under messages on the financial aid tracking system it says that we can submit our 2009 income tax until we can complete our 2010 taxes. This can buy you a little bit more time if you can’t get them done.

If you’re so convinced you won’t get in that you don’t want to bother filling out the financial aid forms, why did you even bother to apply? Or better yet, why are you bothering to fill out the financial aid forms if you believe it’s so much work for someone who probably won’t get in?

@pw,

Good question, look at the odds.
I’m more pragmatic than my father who believes in me and defying the odds. My ID is for him, who has remained healthy despite being diagnosed over 10 years ago with stage4 lung cancer.
So, miracles DO happen!

Yes,miracles do happen.And also I believe there isn’t anything more powerful in this world,than the faith our parents have in us.Even if sometimes it feels that they have a bit too much faith in our potential,it is their belief in us that keeps us going and pushing us to do our best.So S4S,make that extra effort to give these colleges whatever they need, it’ll be worth it in the end.
Good luck.

I feel the same way it’s such a headache I dont understand IDOC at all and I sort of have to do it on my own…parents arent much support.

After finally getting all of our documents off to IDOC on Friday, we received an e-mail yesterday from Columbia with a link to a page with this message: “Please forward any missing tax-related documentation directly to Columbia via the IDOC service. You may print a cover sheet by logging into the IDOC service at http://idoc.collegeboard.com. Please be sure to label each page with the applicant’s name and CU ID number.”

Needless to say, our documents went off to the IDOC without the labels.

I am in the same position. I am an international and didn’t have a lot of opportunities in my school in terms of course load and ECs, and I’m also having a terrible time completing the financial aid forms and stuff. What is worse, I never received my idoc ID and just realized that today, two days before the deadline. I just emailed college board and I’m hoping to get a response soon; otherwise I will just fax my parent’s 2009 documents, as it is explained in the website.

Best of luck!

Sent off the IDOC yesterday w/2009 taxes, CB didn’t provide any info how to forward 2010 when done.
