IELTS score for MIT question....

I would like to apply at a few top schools (my fav MIT) and since i am an international student i need either IELTS or TOEFL. I did the IELTS last year and i scored
Reading: 8.5 (out of 9)
Listening: 8 (out of 9)
Writing: 6.5 (out of 9)
Speaking: 6.5 (out of 9)
The funny part is that i have absolutely no problem neither with speaking nor writing but i scored low because i got a little excited and kept saying "eh eh" during the interview and i didn't really have my muse with me at the testing room.

So, the point is, all schools that require standardizing test scores for internationals say the IELTS should be at minimum 7 for each section and an overall minimum of 7 (mine is 7.5).
I am a little worried about my two 6.5. Maybe the near perfect two scores may obfuscate the other two, but i don't know. Do you think I should retake the IELTS?

I gladly would but I have very little time this whole year so I am in a dilemma. Would it affect my application negatively? Ofc there are also the essays in the application but.....

Maybe take the TOEFL? It’s possible that you’re more suited to that testing style. It shouldn’t need a lot of preparation, either. Speaking into a headset is a bit weird but not too bad,

Hey, your SAT scores and GPA matter more than IELTS or TOEFL.

And dont worry too much because your IELTS scores are quite decent and I dont think they are going to reject a candidate just because of their IELTS scores. Btw, it might happen if your SAT, recommenation & GPA aren’t upto the mark

My GPA is 9.8 out of 10 and the 3 recommendations i took were really good. As for the SAT, my current highest score is a little low unfortunately however i am sure (hopefully) i can increase it by 100. My first score ever was like 1920 at max and after some studying it increased up to 2070
Math 680
CR 700
W 690

I was horrified at the idiotic math mistakes i had made…the usual “answer for what the test question doesn’t ask” mistakes.
