How are Berkeley IEOR upper division (junior/senior) level classes like IEOR 172, 160, 162, etc? How are they graded? Can anybody describe their experiences in the IEOR classes?

How do they compare to lower division requirements like Math 54, Physics 7B, E7, etc? Are they harder/easier? Also, how are they graded? Are they graded easier?

I've already taken Engineering 120 but I took it Spring 2012 (last semester) and it was a joke because we had an awful adjunct instructor who basically didn't teach and would teach us the wrong forumlas and make a bunch of mistakes in class. Then, she'd end the class early and she'd give us challenging exams even with easy homework. I had Deng.

Are the IEOR classes computer programming intensive? Do they involve a lot of groupwork or no? Are the grades mostly exams like in lower division classes or are they more homework/project based?

How's technical writing? What about the senior project class?

How do IEOR classes compared to classes in other departments like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering?

I took ME 40, CE 11, and E 28 for my engineering breadth classes, and I didn't do that well in Thermodynamics (ME 40). Lower division ME classes like E 28 and ME 40 are graded especially tough!

Are the IEOR exams tougher than lower division exams or are they easier?
