If a class is full, can we still apply?

Calc 1 is full. However, I heard that you can go to the first week of class and tell the prof to add you to the list.

Does this guarantee you will be in? Because I don't want to use my credit to use Calc 2 and place out of Calc 1...

There are definitely no guarantees if you ask the professor. Generally speaking they are bound by their departments to stick to the prescribed class sizes and if they are going to make exceptions, it will be for seniors who absolutely need the class to graduate, not freshmen who still have 7 semester left.

That being said, I just checked and Calc I is NOT full. Every section has at least some seats available from what I see when I check JTF.

if a class is “closed” does that mean it has already filled? chem2150 and bio1105 are closed and i need to take one of them.

Actually I checked today, and hahaha…all the Calc 1 classes are open. They were all closed yesterday.

***…but I immediately switched from Calc 2 to Calc 1.

You can often sign up for a waitlist. Make sure you are checking all available sections by searching without day/time restrictions.

If you still can’t get in and you need the class (prerequisite, major track, etc) email the professor & the department. They can probably get you in if it’s important.

Alternatively just check JTF as frequently as you can to see if an opening appears.
