<p>Generally speaking, no. Just because they are test optional doesn’t mean they won’t use everything you send them. If they weren’t interested in them at all, they wouldn’t even make it an option to send them. Look at the Common Data Set to see how heavily they weight them.</p>
<p>As an example, Bowdoin is the top ranked school that is test optional. If you don’t send them test scores, you aren’t penalized, but they look very close at what you do send. However, if you send them lousy test scores, they are quite up front about that being a negative and it will count against you.</p>
