There are about 180 students in our HS graduating classes. Less than 10% apply ED. Many more apply EA and to schools with rolling admissions.

And we are in New England which is ED college heaven. It’s just not an option students at our school pursue.

My kid’s school had 6 kids admitted to Cornell 6 years prior to when she applied. No one matriculated, and years after no one was admitted to Cornell until when D2 was admitted, but meanwhile, students continued to be admitted to HYPS. We all like to live in our little bubble to think adcoms do not keep track, but they do. No different than corporations when they do not get results from a particular school, they will stop recruiting at that school

oldfort - Something like this happened with my other child’s HS. Acceptance rates for a certain top 20 school plunged after a year in which very few accepted students matriculated. I agree that the adcoms were very aware of this.
