If accepted EA, when do you need to respond?

Can you wait til April to see all the other offers from other colleges you applied to?

can wait till May 1st

But warning: Just like with all other schools, the earlier you get your housing deposit in, the better chance you’ll get the housing you select as preferred.

(But also remember that freshmen can really only choose if they want to live in an LLC, not specifically which dorm they want. And if you get honors, you should be guaranteed honors housing in IV.)

haha Yeah. I just remember the main issue for me was that earlier honors kids got WVF and the later ones got Kennedy, but that’s not really applicable anymore.

But at other schools, it can make a big difference. So just keep that in mind with ALL of your schools. I know of a bunch of people that submitted housing deposits (but not tuition) to their EA schools even though they knew if they got into a RD school they’d accept it. But that’s an issue you have to go over with your parents.

Yeah definitely an issue at other schools so do keep that in mind! I also know people who submitted housing deposits right away when accepted to places EA for housing purposes. And yeah, honors housing now doesn’t seem to be a problem-- the first year IV was open, my friend didn’t realize she was in honors until June and still got IV no problem. And I heard this year the honors program exploded in size and now takes up at least 9 floors of IV instead of 6 like last year or something like that.

Yeah there were like 540 honors kids this year. I’d say at least 200 more than the year before. Yet they are all still in IV- they just let less upperclassmen in.

And just to ward off questions- the honors program is still top 10%. The big change was that this year they really really really fought to get students to go to northeastern who got accepted into honors. Partly because of advertisements, info sessions, rankings, scholarships, etc. Also I think its partly to do with the increased number of applications. Either way, you still have to be top 10% of your college.

im kinda glad im not in IV. also, what are LLCs exactly?

Living Learning Communities. It started out for groups of majors to live together if they wanted to (engineering, business, etc) so that you could study, live, and take classes with the same people. Now however there are random ones (like community service) that are just for people who want to try and live with others who have a similar passion or preference. It’s not really a big deal, and its not required as of right now.

The only one that IS required is the honors LLC, if you accept your honors program offer.

Neuchimie, are there other benefits to living in a LLC? In your opinion, is it better to live in a LLC or regular dorm? I’m an accepted Pharmacy student if that helps.

I am also a pharmacy student next year and I want to do Bouve LLC. Whats the best dorm I can be placed in?

Don’t know about Bouve. I was on campus for two years, both in Honors LLC. I loved it, but I don’t know anything about how good the other ones were. I think a lot of people said (and I agree) that after a few weeks you don’t really even notice it that much.
