Riverrunner - what about your DD? I have been crossing my fingers for her! I know she (you?) had some questions about New Haven, but I've been guessing that you are feeling reassured about the city.

To those of you who know they would accept Yale in a heartbeat, I am so hoping you get good news next week. It really is a special place.

Hi worknprogress,
My D had a FANTASTIC trip to New Haven in October. She thinks Yale students have the perfect balance of work and play! I still have qualms about the daily trip to the practice fields, but she doesn't seem a bit concerned with the shuttle bus setup.
She's less anxious than I am right now, about decision day, but Friday we'll know whether to burn the files or dredge up the partially completed apps. Thanks for asking! The short answer is:

Riverrunner's D will say yes and have a really big bonfire on Friday if the answer is right.

Yeah I like Yale more than Harvard in every way; it's so much nicer and more relaxed. Harvard, however, has the best math program by far especially because it has math 55; not that Yale's math is bad - it's just nobody offers the courses Harvard does. In the end, though, I think I'd take the school over the one department.

If accepted, I would pick Yale unless some other college among my top few did something ridiculous, like offered a free ride (which they won't). So basically, if I get in it will be a yes!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS I went to the Met yesterday (Metropolitan Museum of Art), and they had a HUGE wall-size painting by John Trumbull. Knowing that Friday I would find out, seeing a painting by a man so key to Yale at the Met, I was like mesmerized for 5 minutes, and stood there. It's all I've wanted for the past 5 years.

I can't be bothered to do another application firstly. And Yale is the most amazing school on earth anyways, I'd have no need to do another if I get accepted.
