If anyone needs parents weekend advice

I’ve lived next to BU for years. If you need restaurant, things to do advice . . .

That's nice of you. If my parents need anything next year, i'll send ya a msg. :P

what we needed more than anything was an affordable place to stay so that we could have come this year. hotel rates are 50 percent higher than they were for labor day weekend.

Last time I was out there I stayed at the Oasis Guest House. It was clean, in a decent area and reasonable..about $159. during the summer months. Lergnom, do you know it?

We are staying in Braintree at the Holiday Inn Express. They have a free shuttle to the T station and we got a AAA discount so the room is $132.00.

Heh when we visited we stayed at the Commonwealth. Gorgeous hotel. :)

We did the Commonwealth one year too and it is an awesome hotel staffed by many BU students. Expensive though. The Hyatt is convenient. There is an inexpensive Amerisuites in Medford or Somerville.

There are some inns in Brookline. Longwood Inn, Beech Tree Inn, Bertram Inn, Samuel Sewall Inn, Beacon Inn are all decent to nice places. Rates are lower. They all have websites. All are close to the T.

The problem with parents weekend is fall foliage is a huge tourist time.

Also, the Amerisuites rate which is about $150 includes breakfast and free parking.

I know the Oasis Guest House's street but not the inside of the place. It's next to Northeastern near Symphony Hall and Whole Foods. Also a great urban neighborhood though a little rougher than around BU or Brookline - not too many years ago, Westland Ave was really run down but that's changed.
