Just like the title:If I apply ED to Duke or ED to elsewhere, can I apply EA to UNC-Ch?

I tried figuring it out by the universities' websites, but I couldn't find the answer...

Thanks for the help!

EA is basically RD but you get the admission decision earlier. It's not binding like the ED.
So I guess you can go for ED to Duke and EA elsewhere.

Yes. (10 char)

On another tangent, are early actions schools "restrictive" or can you apply to multiple EA schools?

For most EA programs (excluding Stanford and Yale), you can apply to other schools EA.

Georgetown (EA) will allow you to apply to other EA programs but not ED.

Yes, but if you are accepted to Duke ED, then you have to withdraw your app to UNC.

No, if you apply to ED to any school you may not apply EA or SCEA to other schools. If Duke finds out and you were accepted, Duke could withdraw their offer. On the other hand, you could apply to as many EAs as you want, and obviously only to one SCEA school.

ED schools have differnet policies about whether or not an ED applicant can apply EA somewhere else. I think Columbia doesn't have any EA restrictions for its EA applicants, but idk about Duke.

you can apply to as many non-restrictive EA's (like UNC) as you want
i have never seen an ED stop you from applying elsewhere, if you're accepted.. you're going, why would they care?

oldfort what are you talking about? im pretty sure you made that up in your mind because that's not true, at least for most schools.

Columbia is ED, not EA. When you apply ED, read the special agreement page you must sign. You can only apply to one ED.

OP - I just re-read some ED info on some school's web sites and it's not clear you couldn't apply to one ED and other schools with EAs. But one thing is clear is that you cannot apply to more than one ED.

Make an anonymous call to both admissions offices (both the EA school and the ED school) and ask.

honestly.. they are not going to revoke acceptance if they find out you did an EA somewhere, which they wont know in the first place!
