why is it even on the common app?

If it is just for college credit or something, why do you put it on the document for admissions(common app)?

if college DO NOT weight your ap exam scores

sorry for the typo

AP classes are college courses. They are something that will be indicative of how you will do in a college class. Not all teachers are the same however, so just looking at your grade for that “college” level class wouldn’t be enough. This test lets the college see how much you can learn in a class that is as difficult as other classes that you will soon be taking.

They are self-reported though, so you can choose which colleges see. However, if you have 10 AP classes and report 3 grades, they will know something is wrong. They can be a boost in the admissions decisions.
