I know that when deferred you should usually write a letter to the college expressing your interest but at a large public university like Michigan would it be worth sending? Also, they haven't looked at my midyear report which was pretty good. Do you think I should send a letter or just hope my midyear report will get me in?

i definitely don't it would hurt. i know a guy last year who got deferred but wrote a letter and got accepted =) so you never know.

YES! D was deferred and sent a letter with her midyear transcript...she was accepted today.

2forcollege did your daughter write about her recent achievements and why she wanted to go to UMich?

I wrote a letter but wasn't accepted.

i would suggest writing a letter. it can't do you any harm.
because many deferred students send letters it has the potential to make you look like you are no longer interested if you don't send a letter

pdoshi88,
Yes, she wrote an interesting letter about what she's been doing since she applied. Her midyear grades were also very strong with a challenging courseload.
