If I am admitted off the waitlist, is it mandatory that I attend UCSB?

<p>I was put on the waitlist for UCSB and was just wondering if I would have to attend the school if they happen to accept me later on. I know I would have to if I sent a SIR to another UC campus, but what if I sent the SIR to another University not in the UC system?</p>

<p>The school cannot force you to attend. You can go where ever you wish.</p>

<p>Please don’t accept the waitlist offer if you do not intend to attend UCSB. This only lowers the chances for those on the waitlist who really want to go to UCSB if you do indeed get in off the waitlist.</p>

<p>You are incorrect. Even if you send a SIR to another UC campus, if UCSB takes you off the waitlist then it is your option to decide whether to enroll or not. It is also your option if instead you have accepted a place at any other university.</p>
