If I apply earlier, do I get notified earlier?

<p>Sorry if this is a stupid question,
but let's say College A's regular decision deadline is January 1, 2013.
If I complete everything (including sending in ALL recommendations, fee waivers, submitting common app info, etc) on December 2, 2012 (random date), will I get an acceptance/rejection letter earlier than someone who sends in everything on let's say, December 27, 2012?
Basically, I want to know: if I submit my application earlier, will I be reviewed earlier, and get a notification earlier?
Again, sorry if this is an obvious question. I really need to make sure.
Thank you!!</p>

<p>You only receive earlier notification if the school has rolling admissions. If there is a designated notification date (eg. April 1), then everyone finds out at the same time no matter when their application was complete.</p>

<p>Thank you so much!!</p>

<p>BTW - one more question: how do I know if a school has rolling admissions for freshman applications?
I’ve looked at some college websites but found nothing. I even searched in the search bar.
ie Binghamton University</p>

<p>Binghamton is somewhat rolling admission but not really because they do have a set deadline Jan. 15th. Everyone usually gets their acceptance after that.</p>

<p>I’m not familiar with Binghamton, but their website states that the decision date for EA and RD, respectively, are:</p>

<p>[Binghamton</a> University - Undergraduate Admissions - Freshman Application Step by Step Instructions](<a href=“http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/apply/freshman/index.html]Binghamton”>http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/apply/freshman/index.html)</p>

<p>

and

</p>

<p>That kinda sounds like rolling due to the ‘By’; you can give them a call or email and ask.</p>

<p>alright, thanks for your help!</p>
