applying ed2!! does it show enough interest towards emory?

is everyone hibernating?!
bump bump BOOOOOOOOOUMPMPMPMPMP

Can’t answer this without more information.

Well, it does show interest.

But some schools think you may have applied ED I somewhere, got rejected, and now they’re your 2nd choice.

You can combat this idea by writing how much you want to attend Emory etc.

Okay
Well, I heard that emory is one of those schools that takes in the applicant’s level of interest as an admission factor. (I know all the schools are like this but especially emory, like they look to see if you’ve visited the school and etc…)

I haven’t visited school or anything. Will simply applying for Early decision be enough for showing the amount of interest that Emory wants?

I am applying ED 2 not because I got rejected from anoother school or anything - I didnt apply to any ed schoools. I am only doing the ed 2 because I want to retake sat in december and spend some more time on my essays.

“Level of interest” is an important factor for Emory, but simply applying EDII won’t be a difference maker if you’re not a competitive candidate otherwise. If Emory is truly your first choice (I noticed you also posted on the William and Mary thread), by all means apply EDII, but don’t expect it to give you a big boost.

Okay cool! and one more thing, I know this is a vague question but what kind of stats would you consider “competitive” for emory? Also, EDII is binding but I can still apply to other schools for RD right?

Thanks! :D

from nces.gov the 25/75 percentiles are:

SAT Cr: 640-730
SAT M: 660-740
SAT W: 640-730

88% are in the top tenth of their class, and 95% are in the top quarter.

If you apply EDII to Emory (or any school), you are promising that you will attend and will promptly withdraw any application to other schools, unless Emory’s financial aid offer is inadequate.

Great! Thank you!
