If I apply for Fall 2011 with these stats, what are my chances?

GPA: 3.5
Major: Bio
IGETC finished, all pre-reqs finished (Bio, Chem, O-Chem, Calc, Physics).
EC's: Almost none except for some volunteering done in high school
In-state

Schools: UCSD, UCSB

The only problem is that UCSD does not accept the level of Physics I have so I guess that won't be complete and I'll have to take it over there. UCSB however does accept my Physics. Also I think Bio is supposed to become impacted at UCSD by then.

What are my chances if I apply with TAG and without it?

bump…

with TAG = accepted
without TAG + outstanding personal statement = accepted

why wouldn’t you apply with TAG? the option is available for your major at both schools right?

u have a pretty good shot. what is ur gpa for ur prereqs? if u have like a 3.75ish or so and with honors program u’ll get in easily

It’s kind of hard to say right now. I’m in my 2nd year but the only major pre-reqs that I’ve completed is Gen Chem and my average GPA for both semesters of that is slightly over a 3.1. For Bio (my major) none of the classes I’ve taken so far (intro bio and genetics) count as credit toward Gen. Bio I and II so the actual classes that I need for Bio I haven’t taken yet (like Zoology, Botany, etc). But for the bio classes I have taken so far my average GPA is 3.7. I’m currently taking Physics right now and haven’t taken Calculus yet. So yeah…like I said too early too tell. But by Spring of 2011 I will have everything done so that’s why I made this topic.

I dunno, I will apply with TAG if I finish everything of course but I was just wondering how competitive of an applicant I would be even if I didn’t. I think I’d easily get into UCSB but not sure about UCSD since Bio is gonna be impacted there by the time I apply. :(
