<p>If I buy a book online (amazon, ebay, etc) can I sell it back to UCLA during the buyback period?</p>
<p>At my community college it was allowed, so I was just wondering if it was the same way at UCLA or if you HAD to buy it from UCLA in order to sell it back to them.</p>

<p>i dont think theres a limit. im not sure how they calculate how much they give back, because its all over the place. some (like the small paperbacks/novels for north campus classes) are completely worthless even if they are taking them back. some they pay more than the going market price on half/amazon/etc.</p>
<p>you can just bring it to them and if you dont like the price they are offering, then keep it to sell online or whatever.</p>

<p>For engineering/ elementary math books, you'd be lucky to get 50% back. I think it was around 30-40% or even less, depending on the book for these classes.</p>
<p>There is a direct link which allows you to type in the book's ISBN, and you can get an estimate of buy back cash you would receive back. Try to look for that.</p>
<p>I sold some books the other day I got off amazon and they took them no problems. Paid $35 for a used Stats 13 book (UCLA used was $95) and they paid me like $40 for it :D</p>
<p>You'll find if you wait too long to sell a book back that they are no longer accepting used books because soo many other people have sold theirs back. You'll also find that sometimes you'll get a better price at the beginning of the buy-back period than at the end... it all depends on how many they've already bought back. This last quarter I sold my biochem book back to them and got almost $70 back but when my roommate sold it back two days later she only got $30 and our books were practically identical.</p>

<p>So I guess now they have 50% buyback guarantee if you buy from UCLA and use it for 2 quarters. There's also rental books ... but you need to use it for 4 quarters.</p>
