If I can't send an ACT score report...Can I still go to college?!

******** :)

somehow your responses fall flat compared to the effort and intensity of the posters trying to help you. with no further info, i think i'll stop at this point, as it feels artificial. PM someone if it will help. what did you think about tokenadult?

the score reports will cost like 20 dollars each!!!!

enough. you are no different from any other college applicant.

I pm'd him but he hasn't responded

ahhhh!!!! I'm serious, I don't want to rip off a college or ACT!

he will. he might be away. he's extremely diligent.

and Metallica.....how do you lie on a transcript.....i've never touched my transcript in my life

So wait how will you pay for college if you can't pay for these simple reports?

On the last page, it says they will accept a photocopy of your test results.

However, how are you planning to pay your application fees?

I'm sick of the CC people who call others liars. Most of them are probably northeast students going to the top private schools in the state.

I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet:

CALL THE COLLEGES! Explain the situation and ask them what to do. They should give a little leeway. Also, why can't you get a fee waiver? Is there a rule against it or something?

"I'm surprised no one has suggested this yet:CALL THE COLLEGES! Explain the situation and ask them what to do."

people already suggested that the OP send colleges an e-mail explaining his/her situation. and to the OP, i agree that you should call the colleges to explain, and maybe you could also print off a copy of your scores and send them in, just so your colleges will have something official-esque in hand...

Ask your school to cover the cost for now.

Umm, my college counselor told me that most schools will accept scores from the transcripts (then again, we're a testing site, etc.). We have a 99% matriculation rate at my school, so the counseling office sends out thousands of transcripts yearly, he said that they rarely have a problem with it.. only the schools that are extremely selective (I.E. Ivies) seem to have a problem with it.

Ishkabob, on 12/31 you posted in another thread that you paid your app fees (which are much more than ACT fees): <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/442265-can-you-submit-application-fees-few-days-late.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/442265-can-you-submit-application-fees-few-days-late.html</a></p>

You started another thread on 12/19 asking if you should get an iPod or a Zune: <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/435787-ipod-zune.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/435787-ipod-zune.html</a></p>

At best you are leaving something out of the story.

The fee waiver system is set up specifically for students who can't afford the fees. If you can't apply for a fee waiver (why?), then you're stuck.

(And as noted on another thread, most schools do require official, not transcript, score reports. I had already quoted the language from Villanova and William and Mary for you.)

lol, I dont know if this is fake or not but, the OP has around 500 posts and threads, so I dont think he would just try to prank or lie. Usually, people who lie are "new members" or the sort.

Yea, I am also confused on how you sent in app fees. how do you afford internet? I bet you could get all the money in a couple day's work. minimum wage is like 6 bucks? (sorry if it's wrong, I dont live in the US). WHy dont you have a fee waiver? (And I understand you cannot borrow money from a parent, because that would be awkward, but it's college so, I would step it up.)

CAll the colleges. If your phone is out of service b/c you cant pay the bills, emailing is always ok.
But, email will take too long at this time.
Good luck.

I really don't have internet.....the library is a block from my house. My family is broke because we are helping my aunt pay hospital bills (she has cancer) and its alottttt of money...my college fund is screwed

If things are really that bad then sell your iPod or Zune or whatever you bought a few days ago.

Apply for the ACT fee waiver.

I'm not trying to be heartless, but if things are that bad that you can't afford the ACT fee then you need to rethink your priorities.
