I would change my GPA. From 3rd grade to 9th I got straight A’s never had anything below a 93 on my report card. And then for some reason I just really struggled in 10th and 11th. Granted I was depressed in 10th & some of 11th. And in 11th I was living at my church with no hot water. Not exactly the ideal type of building for a high school junior trying to get into an Ivy. So yeah. I hate that I performed amazingly when it didn’t really matter much. And then once I got to high school I have a downward curve…

GPA/Rank. My rank at the end of sophomore year was a 72/425 with a weighted GPA of 94.496 (Valedictorian usually has a 104-107 weighted). I worked as hard as I could junior year, but only managed to get to 33/415 with a 97.701…

My ultimate goal is to get above 100 at the end of high school, so I need a 106.5 weighted average senior year…then I will be in the Top 25 and show all those elitist *******s who should have been valedictorian. (Jumping from 72 to <20 in two years is huge)

Better GPA. Seriously, this is the only thing holding me back from having a decent shot at top schools.

GPA, hands down. then again, a 2400 would be nice. and so would have started my own hedge fund. and so would a reccomednation from the secretary of state…i dont get this question…in what way can we change these things?

GPA or test scores, both aren’t too bad, but could be better.

A lot of things.
I wish I had started my ecs in 9th grade and not have been scared to join any clubs.
I wish I never took AP Biology, AP English literature, and several other classes.
I wish I took the SAT earlier and maybe would have been able to increase my mediocre scores.
But this is what it is, so I must accept it.

what a sad thread… but yeah I wish I studied for the SATs.

GPA hands down.
SAT and EC would be the second choices.

I did worse on the SAT II test in my intended major than I did on the others I took. All my other grades and scores were positives, and this dragged me down.

GPA for sure. Sophomore year :(

Extracurriculars are a close 2nd but I would say SAT/ACT. I was SO lazy in studying for them. I studied for the SAT for about 2 weeks, and studied for the ACT for one day. ONE DAY! And I got a 32. I imagine I could have made almost a perfect score with a couple months of studying.

I got a B (by .2 points) because I didn’t press the issue of my 11th grade English teacher losing my work. I would like to think that someone in guidance should have noticed that my only B came from a teacher who wrote the guidance department a letter about how I’m a horrible student and person, but whatever, it was last year.

This poll goes to show that by far, one of the most important components of college admission will be GPA.

Crap.

Nothing on there for this, but the part where I was suspended for academic misconduct freshman year.

I wish I had more research and also sports/arts. My GPA/SAT are decently high, but my ECs aren’t that great outside of medicine and tutoring (volunteer).

Well, I’m gonna mix it up a bit and say
If I knew then, what I know now…
my son would have never gone to the college he was wait listed at…after four hard years, it was not enough fun and wayyyyy to much money so if he could have changed one thing on his application, it would be not to send it to schools that were too demanding and too expensive and instead send it to our state school’s main campus…way more fun, way less expensive, and way better career services…(our second child is there!)

Can someone chance me? I haven’t gotten any replies to my first post ever :/

My application. It had 4 typos in it which may keep me out of my dream school.

My SAT’s pretty happy, tons of ECs, haven’t done my interviews yet, but oh my god. My GPA. Three B’s and I want MIT. One B is in Calc BC. stress
