If I do bad on this last SAT, will colleges look down upon it?

I've taken 2 SATs already:

Jan. 2010 - 1970 composite (580 CR, 720 M, 670 W)
Oct. 2010 - 2060 composite (600 CR, 770 M, 690 W)

I'm already signed up for the Nov. SAT, which is tomorrow. I was wondering, if I do worse on this SAT and get like a 2020 composite, with no improvement in any of my sections, will my chances be lowered of getting into good colleges? Would it be a good idea to cancel this SAT if I feel like I did bad?

seriously now. 29 views and no response?? BUMP come on ppl!! im a senior by the way… so im finishing up my standardized testing.

Depends on the college. If they take your highest scores from each section, then no. If they look at all the scores, then they probably wont think that much of it, especially if it’s only 40 points down

It is not going to hurt you, probably just won’t help.

I hope you don’t use grammar like that when taking the real SAT. If you have a significant drop (probably about 70 points or more), then your chances might be hurt if the college looks at and considers every one of your scores. In any other situation, you’re probably okay.

I’m sorry but Wedge, who exactly do you think that your answer is helping? And to respond to Featherz, absolutely not. You probably don’t even have to take a third SAT.

You can send your current scores to the schools where you are applying now. Then, if you like your November results, pay to send the new results as well. If you don’t like them, since your scores were already sent, just don’t submit the new ones.

I’m hoping this writing section is easy today. I took a practice test yesterday and only got 15 right, 21 wrong, and a few omitted. That was pretty discouraging seeing that the first test I ever took I got 3 wrong.

Hope everything goes smoothly, I never had time to study for this test much. Blah. Guess the best I can do is try as hard with the knowledge I do have and retake for personal reasons if it doesn’t bode so well this time. Eh, I’m going to go in with a positive attitude this morning and see how far it gets me. Although, this is probably my only real shot into the college I want to get into. I hope I do well. I hope you do well too, OP. My scores are nowhere near yours after my last practice test.
