If i apply to a college and i dont get accepted because of my sat scores, can i send new ones? or do i have to reapply?

Well, there’s really no way of knowing why you got rejected. If you get deferred, you can send new scores and other information in hopes that it’ll boost your chances. If you’re outright rejected, then that’s pretty much it.

Once rejected by a college you are done and cannot reapply for the year; new scores would then be a factor only as part of an appeal of the rejection decision and such appeals are rarely granted. If you have new scores you really should get them to a college before any decision is made.

If rather than rejection you are deferred, you can send new scores and they may be considered for the final decision depending on college.

How would you know that’s the sole reason you were rejected?

I would think my scores are probably the reason I would get rejected because my gpa is higher than what they require and all other requirements are met, except the sat scores. But let me ask you this, are most people referred rather than just rejected right away?

If you apply early action or early decision, deferral to regular decision is often more common than rejection when the decison is made in December. However, if you are in the regular decison group admit or reject is the usual rule with deferral being the exception for some borderline candidates they might want to take a second look at in May if those who accept admission are lower than number they expected.
