if i dropped a class...

If I dropped a pre req. class but told the college about it, and then a week later they gave me an acceptance does that mean im still safe? They arent going to revoke me when I send in my offical trans. and they see the W right? I called ucsb and the lady reviewing my application told me i dont need calculus and i told her that i dropped it, then 1-2 weeks later i got accepted.
Only reason im asking is because i cant call right now and my friend told me they could still possibly rescind me and I guess im just getting really paranoid

Well there’s a chance that the entire decision committee didn’t see the change. I tried to submit a course change two weeks before my admittance and was told that decisions had already been made so I should wait until my acceptance and deal with my officer then. But if it’s an elective course (since the lady told you it’s not required) and you have 60 transferable units, I don’t think it should be a problem. Hoping the best for you, though.

Well thats what i was afraid of :frowning:
It was calculus 2. However she told me it wasnt needed for my major? But they didnt give me my major they gave me my backup, chemistry, which it is required for.

So now im really confused…

When I called and told them that i dropped it though she told me she recorded it down onto my application and updated it. So wouldnt they have seen it?

Well, by April decisions have usually been made and they may not bother to check updates at that point. That is the vibe I got from the UCB admissions department when I talked to them anyway. But, truthfully, I don’t know how it works.

Since it is required for your chemistry major, it may be an issue. You should contact your adviser ASAP and explain what happened. Hopefully they will be lenient because someone in the office gave you conflicting advice. Offer to take it over the summer if possible.

Doesn’t it list the classes they expect you to complete this semester in your terms of admission?

I cant see my provisions of my admission. I click on the link and it just says “finish all classes outlined in your academic update and maintain a good GPA”

Hmm I got a more detailed (and much longer) list of conditions. But that may be because I’m an intercampus transfer. You should definitely get in contact with your adviser first thing this week.

where does it show on the ucsb portal can you perhaps screen shot it?

Now im getting really scared ucr already revoked my admission ucsb is the only other acceptance i have :(

I just called and they told me its fine

They said they were already aware of me dropping the class and that it isnt going to affect my admissions as long as I pass the rest of my classes because they’re admiting me into the “pre major” status. So ill have to finish up the rest of my pre reqs there anyways

yeah i would advise to call them. Im glad you already did
