If I end up not wanting to be a physician...

So I am only a freshman in college, but both my parents are radiologists and I've been on the path towards a career in medicine since I was like 12. Not because its what my parents want me to do so much, but it is partially because that is what I'm used to being around. However, I have always been interested in science and I find medicine fascinating for the most part and besides, I don't have any other particular fields of interest at the moment and I know I'm smart enough to do it.

But I'm already tired of school. Some of my incentive for putting in all this hard work, I'll admit, is the salary, which for doctors seems to be decreasing by the year. I want to make money, but I also want to begin working earlier in my life. I'm a Biochemistry major, I think research is boring but I might just not have enough experience in it. So... are there any suggestions for alternative fields in the same general area that have a shorter duration of school with an optional potential for a high salary? Any answers are welcome, be as creative as you'd like, I'm just fresh out of ideas and not sure I want to be stuck going to school for 8-10 more years of my life just to spend 4 years paying off school bills and have to wait to be able to afford any travel by the time I'm in my late 30's.

Thanks,

Try research again and think about industry although you will probably need a phd if you want to earn real money. Some sort of consulting job in the field of health sciences might also be viable and would require no extra schoolwork
