If i get denied EA or ED can i re-apply with the reg batch?

I was just wondering if i were to apply ED or EA to a college and were denied would i be allowed to re-apply with the regular batch...

This question is important to me because i took the October SATs, im taking the October ACTs, and the November SAT IIs and i do not want to do early action or decision with my old scores if it keeps me from applying later if i get rejected with my new and almost definitely better scores

usually you cant, most colleges have a rule about this though, so its case specific.

and usually a better test score, unless its insanely significant, wont make much of a difference.

but in ur case, id say just dont apply early if youre gonna rely on test scores of a later date.

Check with the school, you may be able to apply early and still use your Oct. and Nov. scores. They would begin to evaluate your application and then throw your scores into the mix when they receive them.

so u think if i applied EA or ED i could possibly send in my scores afterwords but it depends on the school? (this is really a bump in disguise)

If they reject you EA or ED you probably won't be able to apply RD. EA or ED applicants are rarely rejected, they are usually deferred to RD.

Yeah, they usually defer ED/EA candidates so you could send the new scores in time for ED. However, many (I think most) schools accept November SAT scores, I'd call and ask.

Re: Post #5: Northwestern University does not defer ED applicants; it is an accept or reject ED application process.

I've never heard of a situation where rejected EA/ED applicants are re-considered for the RD round. FHG's statement that schools "ususally" defers EA/ED applicants isn't true across the board. Schools routinely reject outright large portions of EA/ED applicants. Sure there's a combination of admit/defer/rejects but the no. of rejects shouldn't be underestimated.

As far as applicable tests, check for last date allowed by college: all with EA or ED with November app deadlines accept October test scores and vast majority accept Nov SAT II scores for EA/ED.

If you're rejected, you can't be reconsidered in the regular round. Usually, they'll defer you to RD though, and you're automatically reconsidered.
