If I get inducted into an honors society after submitting applications...

is it worth notifying colleges I haven't heard back from yet to update them on this and bolster my application? Or is it not really worth sending? If it matters which society I got into, I'm being induced into Eta Sigma Phi, the Classics Honors society. If it is worth notifying colleges about, how would I go about doing it? Would an e-mail suffice?

I think it’s almost always worth updating them. It probably won’t have a huge influence, but it certainly can’t hurt. E-mail has always been acceptable when I’ve updated my application, but make sure it is at your schools.

I would absolutely update. Can’t hurt.

I updated when I joined Phi Theta Kappa. I think its helps! It might even help for merit scholarships.
