Someone I know brought this up recently, and it made me curious because I didn't actually know the answer.

Say you apply to a school this fall, and get rejected. Could you re-apply with an improved application (higher SAT scores, more community service, or something like that) the next fall? If you can, do you have any chance of getting in the second time around?

Note: This is hypothetical, I am merely curious because the topic was brought up.

Yes you can. You would have to justify why you took a year off from schooling though (if it was your senior year), or you can apply as a transfer applicant (if you decide to attend another university and then apply).

Sure. It's called taking a gap year. It happens all the time. Some kids have a gap year thrust upon them when they don't include any safeties on their list and end up getting rejected at every school. You see one or two of these every year on CC. The come back smarter and stronger the next year and usually do very well.

Alright, cool. Good to know. Thanks a lot! I can't stand not having an answer for something haha.
