If i have a 3.4 GPA at the end of first semester, is it possible for me to get back up to 3.8?

I have recently just gotten a 3.4 GPA on my first semester and I am wondering if I can bring it back up to a 3.8 or somewhat close to that?

sorry, I wasnt being specific, that is first semester in freshmen year. I am currently a freshman

That depends on a lot of things. First semester of the year, or first semester ever? How many classes/credits did you take during the first semester and how many will you take after? Why did you get the 3.4 and do you realistically think that was not your best efforts?

This is the first semester of the year, but I have taken some addition classes over the summer and have got A’s in those

No, if you have the same number of classes and get a 4.0 you will have a 3.7 after the semester. Unless you have any weighted classes? But, I’m assuming you may not as a freshman.

I do believe those were not my best efforts as my grades were far worse and I had brought them up after I found my way of studying

My school lets us take some courses over the summer, so if i were to take some extra courses, would that bring my GPA as well?

Yes, that could bring you up.

I’m assuming this is HS. Your freshman year is considered considerably less by colleges than your Sophomore and Junior year, some colleges don’t even look at your freshman grades. Just figure things out and you’ll be fine.
