If i have a 98 W gpa and in 2nd decile.. does that mean school is competitive

does this mean my high school is competivie.. class has 300ish students and highest gpa is about 105.. i looked on schooldigger.com and my high school was ranked over 100 in my state!.. ny.. that seemed very low.. what would adcoms think of my rank.. ahh idk my class rank doesnt look competitive for the schools im looking at..

It means you have crazy grade inflation.

I agree with aigiqinf

I have an unwieghted average somewhere around 85 and I'm barely in the top 20% at my school, which I don't really consider competitive.

The more competitive/selective the school, the less a weighted GPA is going to matter as there is already an expectation that you are taking the most rigerous courses your school offers and you are doing well. As a matter of fact most selective schools will look at your unweighted GPA because as others have stated, some schools seriously inflate for rigerous courses. So proceed using your unweighted gpa.

well UW for me is a 93ish... i dont think our grades are inflated though i just think we have very driven and overachieving students. honors classes get a 10% curve and AP classes get a 15& curve.. is that unusual??

it means you touch yourself at night

Another vote for rampant grade inflation.
