of getting into a college that does not require them, but will look at them if they're sent? I did pretty horribly on my SAT 2s (got a 510, 600, and a 470). Although, I got a 2000 on the SAT 1.

I think this depends on which schools you are applying to, that makes a big differnce…let us know then we can help you. Hey you got 2000, that is very impressive and no easy feat!

Thanks. I’m applying to Fordham, Northeastern, American, and UVA. I already applied to Penn State and Rutgers before I took the SAT 2s, and I got into Rutgers already. I’m pretty sure I’m getting into Penn State, as well.

haha i know how u feel. i got a 480 on the literature test, but my proctor wouldnt let me pee. who knew that during 3 tests, you only got 1 break!?

im having the same problem…i have a 700 math i 650 math ii 510 bio 530 chem and 490 us hist…like i have 2 good ones…but the rest suck…ED TO NYU..(only need two)

Fordham, Northeastern, American, and UVA. don’t think with a 2000 you will have any problem as long as everything balances out, for UVA, are you in state or out of state?

I was wondering the same thing except with:
ACT 29
math ii 640
bio 500
us history 550

stanford.
cal.
ucla.
ucsd.

I think Stanford will be tough to get into.

yea i think you’re reaching a bit for your unis…best choose some safeties…in case.

I’m going to have to say that both UCLA and Stanford is a huge reach. UCLA values your SAT II’s very highly. Stanford, well, your SAT scores are not high enough. The avg. is probably like a 2250- somewhere around there. What’s your GPA?? If you go on princeton review, you can see how you compare witht he average students at each of these colleges.

Same Q. My colleges only want 2
I got 800 670 (retaking for 750+) and 470
Should I retake the 470, or is that unnecessary?

I’m OS for UVA, so that’s definitely a reach for me. Anyway, will my chances be lowered at all for those schools because of my really awful SAT 2 scores?

I don’t think your scores are good enough to be competitive at Stanford, foxiechick9. Study and retake.

should i jsut not send the sat ii scores because they do not require them?

If you send in SAT I, SAT Subject Tests get sent automatically.

i know im not planning on sending my SAT scores i am only going to send my ACT

"UCLA values your SAT II’s very highly. "

ozhang6691; Where did you hear that? Doesn’t sound all that “wholistic”. Someone posted a thread saying the UC’s making the SAT II’s optional( though I wouldn’t count on that soon). I know UCSD weighs them equally with the SAT 1.

Anyone…?

Why would a college think it is worse to more than what the college asks (submit more SAT II scores than the number required)? And why would it look bad to take an SAT II and get a low score compared to not taking the test at all?

Hope you’re right. I might retake my 470 in december, if I have time.
