If i have not been even deferred, would i get my decision by April 1st?
this is getting really hard for me; T.T

Hey,

All you can do is wait... UMICH got alot of applications and I guess it takes time to sort things out. Has it been 12-14weeks?

GL on getting accepted

I haven't heard anything from them either, but I'm a transfer applicant so it may work a little differently I suppose...

Shouldn't Michigan be ahead of things?

-1st of it is rolling (common sense). Most people already know their decisions.
-2nd they have a new system of input their data that speeds up the process.

So what is taking them so long?

Michigan definitely has some issues to sort out regarding their timetable for decisions. I was waitlisted last year and am pretty much used to it now. I honestly am willing to wait 12-14 weeks if it means an acceptance ;)

RIDICULOUS!!!!
is all i can say;
i hope i get in tho;
sigh~

QNYergrl, when did you apply?

I applied for transfer last week of January and I got in 4 weeks later.

I applied around the same time you did but my high school totally messed up sending my transcript and I had to get it resent. By the time Michigan received it and my app was complete it was late February. To be honest I don't think I deserve to be accepted based solely on my first term grades but I guess it's good that they haven't rejected me yet...

Congrats on your acceptance BTW

Hey thanks!

Good luck to you too. Hope you get in. Which school did you apply to in UMich? Is it your first choice, or do you want to go to NYU/GWU?

they were pretty quick to give me a deferral...and pretty quick to give acceptances/deferrals to some other people.......I think if your apps been in a while they are on the fence as to where to put you (out of the 3 A, D, R)

i am in the same situation as you midget.... ****ING ME OFF!!!

Likewise Midget and please...

They STILL haven't got back to me!

MightyNick - I applied to the school of kinesiology as a sports management major. NYU has this major and GWU has this concentration in it's B-school, but from what I've read Michigan's program is definitely the strongest of those three and is one of the top programs in general. I prefer the urban locations of NYU & GWU but Michigan's program seems so strong. I honestly don't know what my first choice is...I think I'd be happy at any one of those schools. Thanks for the well wishes!

Are you going to matriculate @ UMich next year, or are you waiting on other schools?

What happened to Rice, QNYergrl?

LOL
i think i'll get ****ed off if they reject me
i mean...
why would they hold me, BritishBulldog, please... and other ppl for so long if they ARE going to reject us!
right guys?
T.T

Exactly, think positive, they're probably just delaying so they have an excuse to spend more intimate time with our applications, they're that hot.

Hey A2Wolves - Honestly, laziness is the reason I decided not to apply to Rice. I didn't think my chances were good at all and thought that it would be a waste of time, energy and money if I did apply. Even though I've liked everything I've read about it, I had a reality check - I've never been to Texas, or the southwest or south (does Florida count?) and when I mentioned the idea to my parents they kind of soured on it. I probably wouldn't have been able to go even if I did get accepted... =(

QNYergrl:

I've sent my Michigan deposit already, but I'm not completely sure if I'm gonna go there. I also applied to UVA and if I get in (which,I find out in the last week of April) I am pretty sure I'll be going there. It's an equally good school, has less tuition, and better weather.

If I don't get in UVA, I might attend Michigan. However, there are a few things that make me want to stay at PSU if I don't get in UVA. I'm a business major and if I go to Michigan, I'll have to change my major to Economics. I can apply to Ross in sophomore year, but the Business program is 3 years long, which means I'd be graduating in 5 years. I don't mind doing Economics, but my first preference is accounting/finance. Also, I have a good gpa here (3.9) and transferring would mean that I'll be starting all over again.

At UVA I'll also do Econ, but I also have the opportunity to apply to their business school by the end of my sophomore year. Unlike Ross, McIntire's program is 2 years long. Also, I think its less competitive to get in compared to Ross.

But yeah...i'm still not 100% sure i'm going to Michigan. Right now, my first choice is UVA...if I get in I'm definatley going. If I don't, I'll need to think about PSU/Michigan more before I make a final decision.

I'm attending the Campus Day on April 16, and hopefully that will help me make a decision about Michigan.

Good luck MightyNick. UVA's also a great school.

Yeah, I was just rejected from UPenn so it looks like UVa is my baby.
