I certainly don't want to send them, and the school takes either SAT or ACT. But since I filled out the SAT info, do I have to send the scores? Or is it better to just not list them on the app?

You have to list them on the app AND send them. (At least that’s how it is for most schools)

If the application asks, then put the info.

If the school says send your scores, then send your scores.

If both, then do both.

Learn to follow directions.

I know for Ohio State, there’s an option to put SAT/ACT scores on the CommonApp, but they suppress that information from the application and therefore force you to send the scores.

Self-reported scores don’t mean anything. If you’re using scores to fulfill the standardized testing requirement, they have to be sent from the testing agency.

If you’re going to meet the requirement with your ACT scores, then you don’t need to send your SAT scores (nor do you need to self-report).

Sorry, misunderstood your question. If the school is “OR”, then you only have to send one or the other. You can self report both (or one, if the other is bad). If you really feel unsure, you can send an e-mail to your Admissions Rep saying that you sent the one, and if they want the other, you are happy to send it.

The exception is if the school says “[self-]report all scores”. Then you have to list all. Also, the school might be “or”, and still have the requirement to send “all” - not likely, but possible.

okay I’ll just leave my SAT out of the picture then. Thanks!

Generally the scores need to be sent…otherwise a lot of applicants would be tempted to lie about their scores when self reporting.

YES. Unless the school doesn’t require it and your SAT scores are worse than the school’s avg.
